Los Angeles plans to electrify all 10,000 vehicles in its municipal fleet

Los Angeles (Reuters) – The Los Angeles City Council approved a plan to electrify its municipal fleet of more than 10,000 vehicles in a bid to become one of the first US cities to rely on carbon-free energy by 2035.The shift will start with the city’s largest health, recreation and transportation sectors, and the expansion of electric vehicle charging networks will also be considered.The Los Angeles Department of Water and Power currently projects that the city will need about 97,000 electric vehicle charging stations by 2030.
